Final Post aka “The Big Cheese”

I honestly enjoyed the fact that I can now hold a rat… well Cheez-It. I went into this class thinking that there would be absolutely no way that I could hold a rat, especially with one that has red eyes. I just fell in love with Cheez-It, she was just the perfect size and just loved to sit in my pocket. We even made a TikTok together and tried to convince my mom to keep her! It didn’t work.  I overcame the misconception that rat’s tails aren’t as bad as they seem and lab rats in general aren’t terrible. I never realized how smart albino rats were until completing this portion of the project. If you’d ask me to touch a rat outside of Cheez-It I still would probably say heck no, but I could pick one up in the pet store if needed. I am still not over the misconception of rats in general, Cheez-It is just different. The most surprising to experience was getting bitten by my roommate’s rat. I don’t think I can ever forget that moment or the painful TDAP shot I had to get. Lastly, my favorite memory by far was being able to show cheez-it on my 'southern ambassador tour. She got to meet a lot of great people. :)  I can’t wait to train Cheez-It in our upcoming project and look forward to all the new memories that will be made!
